About

The 2018 Alberta Boccia Championships, hosted by the Alberta Cerebral Palsy Sports Association (ACPSA), will take place in Medicine Hat, AB from May 25-27. The tournament will be contested in accordance with a provincial sanction from the Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association. 


Who

Boccia athletes of all ages, abilities and experience are welcome to participate. 

Individual gameplay will be offered in the following classifications: BC1, BC2, BC3, BC4, and Open

Friday May 25, 2017

Athlete Training Camp and Classification will occur for participating athletes on Friday evening at the venue. Schedule TBA.

Saturday June 24th, 2017
9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Day 1 of Tournament

Sunday June 25th, 2017
1:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Please note: if you truly do not need an accessible room, please just book a regular room, as there is a limited number of accessible rooms available. Breakfast is provided.


Travel between Venue & Hotel

Transportation between the hotel and the venue must be  arranged by the athlete. 

One accessible taxi is available for athletes to book in Medicine Hat. Please contact Shelley at 403-878-9200. There will be a flat rate fee between $15-20 per trip from the hotel to the curling rink. Please contact Shelley a week prior to the tournament to schedule your rides because the taxi service will have to service more than one athlete on the mornings of the tournament. 


Classification

Classification will be available for all registered athletes into the following classes: BC1, BC2, BC3, and BC4. It will occur on the first day of the tournament prior to commencing gameplay.  

Once an athlete has been classified, their name will be registered on the national roster, and their tournament results will be available to national coaches to observe. 


How to Enter

All participants must register for this event online. Athletes,  coaches, sport assistants and officials are asked to register online prior to the deadline of May 18, 2018.

Participation in this event requires Alberta Cerebral Palsy Sports Association membership for the 2018 year. Please renew your membership or sign up as a member.

If cost presents a barrier to participation, subsidies are available.
