The 2019 Alberta Boccia Championships were recently hosted in Edmonton by the Alberta Cerebral Palsy Sports Association (ACPSA).
The competition kicked off on June 1st with a mixed class round robin. The athletes had to adapt their playing styles to take into consideration the other classes that they would be competing against.
Canada will be represented by seven athletes, including six Paralympians and four Parapan Am medallists, in the sport of boccia at the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games, the Canadian Paralympic Committee and Boccia Canada announced today.

A huge thank you goes out to our staff, officials, volunteers, athletes and family/friends who came out to support the 4th annual Alberta Boccia Championships! We had athletes competing from Medicine Hat, Strathmore and Edmonton, with an athlete from each of these locations taking home a medal.
